Waziri Lipumba has been part of the Winrica Adventures journey since before Dealers of Hope was formally established. He is one of the steady, behind-the-scenes leaders whose commitment, work ethic, and character helped lay the foundation for what Winrica Adventures is today.

In 2022, Waziri was also part of the team that supported our founder, Erika Bogan-Mtui, in reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in her wheelchair—an experience that reflects the trust, teamwork, and resilience that define Waziri’s role within our community.

Waziri is married and a devoted father of four children. Three of his children are currently in school, and the youngest is three years old. Like many families connected to the mountain industry, Waziri’s household has historically faced instability during low tourism seasons, when work and income become unpredictable.

Through the support of the Dealers of Hope community, Waziri was able to purchase a motorcycle and start a small taxi business. This additional source of income has been transformative, allowing him to better meet his family’s needs year-round and reducing the financial strain that once made it difficult to plan beyond the next season.

Waziri’s story is one of progress and perseverance. He is often shared as one of our clearest examples of how targeted support—combined with determination and hard work—can lead to long-term stability and independence.

His current goal is to complete his family’s home. A new roof has already been installed, but the house remains unfinished and still needs plumbing, windows, and flooring to become a safe and durable living space for his family.
