Victor Shirima Family

Victor Shirima has been one of the core guides of Winrica Adventures since the very beginning. He is not only a highly respected mountain guide, but also one of our most requested cultural tour guides—known for his knowledge, kindness, and deep pride in his work.

Victor is a husband and a father of three children: Janeth (formerly known as Queen), Jennipher, and Jonathan. Janeth is not Victor’s biological child, but she is a child he has never given up on. She was orphaned by her birth family due to a rare bone condition, Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 1, which prevents her from walking. Janeth is a full-time wheelchair user.

Because of her disability, finding a school or private tutor in Tanzania willing and able to support her has been extremely difficult. At the same time, Victor’s other two children are also in school, making education costs a significant and ongoing challenge for the family.

Both Victor and his wife work full time and currently rent a home that has been made accessible for Janeth through the generous support of our Hope Dealers community. Victor’s long-term dream is to build a small chicken farm to help sustain his family year-round, especially during low tourism seasons when many families struggle to make ends meet.

Families like Victor’s are not seeking handouts. They are deeply committed to building stability, independence, and a better future for their children.

If you would like to adopt or sponsor the Victor Shirima family, please let us know directly via email or note it when making your donation online. Sponsors may be contacted first if emergency needs arise—there is never an obligation. This approach helps us protect the dignity of our families and avoid publicly sharing their hardships through social media.

Faces of Hope – Walk Alongside a Family

This form allows you to inquire about sponsoring or supporting a family featured on our Faces of Hope page. Once a family’s immediate needs or fundraising goals are met and they reach a stable place, they will be marked as sponsored, and a new family or individual in need will be added.
