Queen B.
Queen B. is 14 years old and was born with a very rare bone disease that causes her bones to fracture very easily. Queen absolutely loved going to school and learning, but do to her brittle bones and current casting for fractures, she is not able to currently go to school.
Queen was born into a family that belongs to the Maasai tribe. Her parents knew they would not be able to give her the care she needed, so they gave her to another family who could provide a little bit better for her outside of the Maasai village.
One of the many obstacles for her is finding a tutor who will come to her home and give her the schooling that she craves, along with a “nurse” who can attend to her needs like using the toilet, preparing food, etc. The cost of both would be approximately $200/month.
She is also in need of health insurance. The cast that she is currently in has been on for 3 years because the family is not able to pay for her to see a doctor that can tend to her needs. This would cost approximately $300/year.
Queen loves to create art! She loves to paint and sew. It would be a wish for her to have more supplies to be able to make art, which is one of the few activities she is physically able to do.
